I started my tech career in the nonprofit world in 2008 when I managed my organization's static HTML website.
I have since grown in my tech career and have played the roles of digital marketing manager, project manager, layout designer, and front-end developer.
I spent over a decade in the nonprofit world, made a brief stop at a pharma marketing working with companies who treat rare diseases, and am now in state government.
I am the lead front-end developer at the Delaware Department of State's Government Information Center.
One month after I joined the Government Information Center, the pandemic hit. We had to quickly stand up a website to address this massive crisis.
I was the layout designer for the original website and the lead front-end developer for the redesigned version. I turned Figma designs into an improved WordPress theme.
See Live WebsiteThis was my first professional custom built website in WordPress. We redesigned the town of Delaware City's website. I turned Photoshop and Figma designs into working code.
I upgraded the website to use Bootstrap 4, built a new search feature in jQuery, and transitioned the site from the WordPress classic editor to Gutenberg blocks.
See Live WebsiteThe governor's office combined several coronavirus-related state of emergencies into one larger one. They needed a web page where people could easily navigate it and it would be easy to update when needed.
I built this WordPress page to include jQuery navigation scrolling. I also used PHP to build custom WordPress shortcodes so that the content and functionality were all accessible for content editors.
